As a mother, you juggle a million things every day. You’re constantly trying to do it all—work, parent, maintain the household, and still somehow find time for yourself (spoiler alert: that’s hard to do). And yet, despite giving everything you’ve got, you still feel like you’re coming up short. You’re exhausted, overwhelmed, and at times, it feels like you’ve lost track of who you are underneath all the roles you play.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. You don’t have to keep fighting to prove your worth to others. You can reclaim your true self—the you that’s been buried under years of expectation, guilt, and shame.

Hello
I'm Amity
I help exhausted mothers claim their authenticity and break the cycle of shame and judgment they experience for simply being who they are. By leaning into what you KNOW to be true for yourself and your world, to give yourself permission to explore beliefs and boundaries others have told you are wrong or inappropriate or harmful, we will create that realness you crave. Together we will laugh, hold ourselves and others accountable, cuss (a lot), and show up for you.
How Online EMDR Therapy Works & What to Expect
EMDR helps you process feelings by gently working through the painful memories and experiences that have shaped your beliefs. Instead of pushing through exhaustion or feeling like a failure, you’ll begin to unlearn these patterns of self-doubt. You’ll finally be able to let go of the shame that’s been keeping you small and accept that you are enough, just as you are.

Through EMDR, we can target the underlying beliefs that have kept you from speaking up. Whether it's due to past shaming experiences or societal pressures, you’ll learn to challenge the idea that your voice is worth listening to. You’ll start to claim your voice in your relationships, in your home, and most importantly, within yourself.

EMDR works by helping you break free from the belief that you have to be perfect to be worthy of love or success. You’ll start to embrace the messy, imperfect parts of life and motherhood, finding peace in the fact that doing your best is more than enough. Your kids don’t need you to be perfect—they need you to be real, and EMDR helps you reconnect with that authenticity.

Through EMDR, we can reprocess and heal painful memories that are holding you back. We’ll work together to clear the emotional charge around these experiences, freeing you from the painful cycles of shame, guilt, and anxiety that prevent you from living your life authentically. As you heal, you’ll feel more at ease in your own skin and be able to show up for your family as the best version of yourself.

As you heal and reclaim your authentic self, you’ll be able to model these values for your kids. You’ll be able to give them the grace to be imperfect, to speak their truth, and to embrace who they really are. The healthier you feel emotionally, the more emotionally available you’ll be to your children—and that’s the greatest gift you can give them.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is EMDR appropriate for? Who is not appropriate for EMDR? EMDR can be incredibly helpful for moms who are struggling with anxiety, depression, or negative self-beliefs that stem from past experiences. If you’re feeling stuck or like you’ve tried everything but still can't seem to break free, EMDR might be the right fit for you. It's especially effective for those dealing with the emotional weight of parenting, past emotional neglect, or self-worth issues. My goal is to help you feel seen, heard, and empowered as you heal. EMDR might NOT be the best choice if you’re currently in crisis, abusing alcohol or drugs to cope, or finding it difficult to stay grounded in the present moment. It's also important that you're in a place where you can safely engage with the process. If you're in an unsafe environment or overwhelmed by immediate emotional distress, it may be helpful to focus on stabilizing those things first, and then explore EMDR when you're ready.
What makes YOU a good candidate for EMDR? You might be an ideal candidate for EMDR if you've been carrying emotional pain from your past—especially from experiences of neglect, judgment, or not being seen for who you truly are. If you're a mother who feels overwhelmed by the expectations of others, EMDR can help you work through those past wounds and reconnect with your authentic self. EMDR is a great option for those who feel like they’ve tried other approaches but still find themselves stuck in patterns of guilt, shame, or anxiety. It’s a safe space to process the things you’ve been holding onto and move toward healing.
What is EMDR and how does it work? EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is a powerful, evidence-based approach to help you heal from painful life experiences and beliefs. If you’ve been carrying emotional pain from experiences of neglect, abuse, or judgment, EMDR helps process those memories so they no longer have the same overwhelming impact on your present life. Through bilateral stimulation—usually through guided sounds or tapping—EMDR helps your brain reprocess traumatic memories, allowing you to heal and move forward with greater emotional balance. It's gentle but effective, and it can help you feel more in control of your thoughts and emotions, freeing you to live a life that reflects your true self.
